Extruded Polystyrene, Fanfold Protection Board For residential and light commercial construction Mapecover 810 is a rigid, lightweight, extruded polystyrene (XPS), fanfold protection board designed to protect MAPEI waterproofing membranes on vertical below-grade foundations during the placement of backfill. Mapecover 810 also can be used in planters as a vertical protection course for MAPEI waterproofing membranes. Use with Mapedrain ™ TD Drainage Composite and its related accessories. As a lightweight fanfold bundle, Mapecover 810 is easy and fast to install, providing labor savings. Mapecover 810 serves as a protection course for MAPEI waterproofing membranes. Mapecover 810 features a straight-cut hinge, allowing it to lie flat. The product’s moderate compressive strength withstands backfill pressure. Native soils can be used over Mapecover 810. Unaffected by permanent immersion in water, bacteria and alkalis, Mapecover 810 will not deteriorate when exposed to these conditions. Mapecover 810 features a clear polystyrene film facer on both sides for added strength. Efficient packaging allows for 57 bundles of Mapecover 810 per pallet, offering 10,944 sq. ft. (1 017 m2) of combined coverage. Mapecover 810 is designed for use in vertical below-grade foundation structures and retaining wall applications. Mapecover 810 is used to protect MAPEI waterproofing membranes during backfill. Mapecover 810 is not designed to be used at depths greater than 10 ft. (3,05 m). Mapecover 810 is not designed or intended to be used as a waterproofing membrane. Rather, it is an accessory for waterproofing systems. Do not leave Mapecover 810 permanently exposed to ultraviolet (UV) light. Backfill must be uniformly compacted in lifts and must consist of clean, compactible soil. If angular aggregate is desired, it must be 3/4" (19 mm) or less, and free of debris, sharp objects and stones larger than 3/4" (19 mm). SUITABLE SUBSTRATES AND SURFACE PREPARATION • Before installation of Mapecover 810, an appropriate waterproofing membrane must be installed. PRODUCT APPLICATION Mapecover 810 can be installed against retaining walls and foundation walls with waterproofing. Mapecover 810 can be cut to fit the application with a utility knife or scissors. Backfill or gravel may be placed directly onto Mapecover 810 panels. The panels can terminate on top of the footing, and additional cut pieces can be used to cover the top of the footing.
